Brendan Fevola was all set to fly out to LA for a week's holiday today as planned, despite some believing he should remain in Australia to continue his rehabilitation.

AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou spoke out, saying Fevola should remain here and continue his treatment.

But Fevola's brother Jason said he needs to get away for a while and a break from all the pressure would do the player good.

Jason is going with this brother on the trip.

VFL club Casey has said they will stand by Fevola and are now aware his recovery will take longer then was thought.
