Roger Federer has proven his mettle after bouncing back this season at the French Open to defeat Novak Djokovic 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 3-6 7-6 (7-5).
The money had been on Djokovic to make it through to the final at Roland Garros tomorrow, after his 43-match winning run.
Djokovic remained philosophical about his defeat, saying he knew it must come to an end sooner or later and said the experience would serve to make him stronger.
He added the last 5 months of his career had been an 'incredible period'.
Federer will face Rafael Nadal in the final tomorrow.
