FIFA has suspended Israel national coach Luis Fernandez with immediate effect for failure to pay a debt to a team he previously coached in Qatar in 2005.

The Israeli Football Association (IFA) said they are due to meet with Fernandez to discuss.

Fernandez had recently told a French radio station that there was a criminal complaint ongoing, and a law suit between two clubs which was not for him to decide.

He said if FIFA wanted to suspend him they could, he was 'relaxed and calm about it'.
