FIFA president Sepp Blatter pledged zero tolerance to corruption when he faced media in Rio three days after former Asian Football Confederation president Mohamed bin Hammam was banned for life for his involvement in the bribery-for-votes scam.
Blatter said there would be'zero tolerance for everybody, on the pitch and off it... not only for my neighbour, my friends, my colleagues, my opponents, referees, but also for presidents of associations"
Blatter refused to make any comment on his former ally Hammam's punishment.
He is currently in Rio for the 2014 World Cup draw which takes place on Saturday.
