Melbourne Victory lost 2-0 to Korean team Seongnam Ilhwa in the Asian Champions League at the Etihad Stadium last night.  

Archie Thompson, The Victory's striker, has slated the pitch there as "a cow paddock" and said something desperately needs to be done to improve it before the A-League grand final on Saturday week.

The pitch is said to be in terrible condition - uneven, bumpy and with large bald patches.

The Etihad surface has been troubling players and coaches all season. Melbourne coach Ernie Merrick described it earlier in the season as like "a car park".
