Former rugby league star John Elias ended up in jail for a night last night for sending threatening text messages to TAB Sportsbet media manager Glenn Munsie.
Elias was arrested yesterday and charged with breach of jail for making contact with a witness involved in his case.
He was also charged with two counts of "using carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence".
He was refused bail and spent the night in a prison cell, but has been released on conditional bail this morning and will appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on April 7.
