The sport of curling is being transformed into an attractive glamorous affair as a new generation of young women prove themselves by working hard in the gym and leaving behind the sport's negative unhealthy-looking image.
With all those hours spent getting fit in the gym, a raft of toned and healthy bodies is taking to the ice now, and the sport is increasingly attracting younger competitors.
Eve Muirhead, Scotland's captain at 19 years of age, said she's all for this interest in the athletes as it helps raise curling's profile.
She said the sport requires a great deal of stamina and so her team had been working on their fitness throughout the summer.
Moe Meguro, captain of Japan, agreed the sexy image could do no harm, but said it should not detract from the sport itself.
Another female causing a stir on the ice is Kristie Moore of Canada who is five months pregnant. She said she was still able to play the sport and thought the baby liked it the more she was active!
