Australia has earned its second gold medal at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, as Lydia Lassila jumped her way to victory in the women's freestyle aerials final at Cypress Mountain.
She found herself in second place after her excellent jump in the first round but Australia's other hot contender for the gold, Jacqui Cooper, stood in top position at the start of the second round. But there were still 6 more jumpers to follow, with Lassila going second from last.
It was a nail biting finish and wait for the final jump from China, but she fell and the gold was rightly awarded to Lassila.
